Annual Appeal
Mount de Chantal students receive an academically challenging, spiritually enriched education of the highest caliber, yet the tuition they pay is considerably less than the actual cost of their education. The Annual Fund provides a way to help bridge the gap between tuition revenues and the actual cost of a "Mount" education.

Furthermore, a gift to the Annual Fund supports all school programs and activities, including faculty salaries and enrichment, teaching materials, financial aid, academic programs, technology, the arts, co-curricular activities, athletics and maintenance.

Sisters Fund

For 158 years the sisters of Mount de Chantal Visitation Academy have given unconditionally to the academic, religious and moral enrichment of approximately ten thousand young people. Today, funds are necessary to help meet the needs of the sisters, particularly in terms of health care necessities. Please consider giving something back that will help enrich the lives of these women in their retirement years.

Memorial/Honorary Gifts

Gifts to Mount de Chantal can be made in memory of a deceased relative, classmate or teacher, or in honor of living faculty, students or alumnae.

Scholarship Gifts

More than ever, scholarship endowment is critical to our future. It is a little-recognized fact that tuition income covers approximately 60% of the operating budget in most private secondary schools. Parents recognize the value of education to their child’s future and economic security. Increasingly, we are faced with parents who have a strong desire to invest in education but at a level that in no way approaches the cost of private schools. Nearly 45% of our students now receive some form of financial assistance.

Planned Gifts

A planned gift allows a donor to make a gift to the Mount through a bequest or a trust. A planned gift makes the most of your assets in ways that can benefit you, your loved ones, and Mount de Chantal —leaving a legacy that you know will make a difference for many generations to come.

The personal and financial advantages of charitable estate planning techniques have served people well. Sound financial planning can provide financial security for your family, as well as assure a continuation of the fine academic standards at Mount de Chantal. Federal and state tax laws favor charitable giving, by providing real income tax, capital gains tax, gift tax, and estate tax benefits.

A gift can be made during your lifetime, or a gift can be made under your will or trust. It may consist of cash, securities, mutual funds, retirement plans, personal property, and/or real estate. There are even ways you can give something to us, such as real estate, and yet still keep the lifelong right to use it.

Endowment

The endowment is Mount de Chantal’s savings account. It is accumulated capital that is invested to earn interest. The interest provides the most desirable source of funding for our priority needs. The endowment secures our long-term strength while providing immediate benefits to the school.

The major endowment needs at the Mount are the following:

• Faculty Salary and Professional Development Endowment
• Financial Aid/Assistance Funds
• Facility/Maintenance Endowment
