Annual Appeal |
Mount de Chantal students receive an
academically challenging, spiritually enriched
education of the highest caliber, yet the
tuition they pay is considerably less than the
actual cost of their education. The Annual Fund
provides a way to help bridge the gap between
tuition revenues and the actual cost of a
"Mount" education.

Gifts by Will
A bequest
to Mount de Chantal is the most traditional way to provide
support. With a gift through your Will, you retain full use of
your gift property during your life.
Life Insurance
You can
name Mount de Chantal as the beneficiary of your life insurance
– just contact the insurance company to make the change.
You may
also transfer ownership of the policy, or buy or
contribute a new policy. Such a gift will entitle you to an
income tax deduction, and future premium payments will be tax
deductible.
Financial Accounts
Most
accounts at financial institutions can be made payable at death
to a charitable organization. You can arrange with your bank the
designation of death beneficiary for your CD, savings account,
etc.
Benefits from IRAs and Pension Funds
Non-spouse
and non-charitable beneficiaries must pay tax on these types of
accounts. However, if the account is payable directly to a
charity, such as Mount de Chantal, the account is not taxable
and all of the funds will go to the benefit of the Mount.
Charitable Remainder Trust
You
transfer assets to a legally established trust, which then pays
you an annual income for life. Following your death, the trust's
assets become a gift to Mount de Chantal.
Charitable Lead Trust
You
establish a trust that transfers assets to Mount de Chantal; the
trust generates income for the Mount for a specified number of
years. At the end of that time, the funds are returned to you or
to your heirs.
